After 27 years in the U.S. Air Force, Lt Col Deryk Jeter’s Retirement Ceremony was truly a family affair. And that was the biggest takeaway from this afternoon with this special family. A military career this long takes sacrifice from everyone — Becky, each one of six children, and of course, Deryk. It was only fitting that his ceremony was filled with family, from little Will saluting at the end, to Holden flying Batman during the COL Dennis Loh’s remarks, to bites of Durian, to pretty Jeter girls loving their flowers and enjoying the full-force fan. It truly was a family affair, and it made the celebration even that much sweeter.
I’m having major FOMO about not getting to know this awesome family better during their time in Singapore. I walked into this session having never even met Deryk, and their entire family was completely comfortable and at ease. It is clear they are such wonderful parents with big hearts, and their kids are so great. They are beginning a new adventure in Billings, Montana this summer, and I know they will be missed greatly here in Singapore!
The kids enjoyed the pool tables at the Terror Club while waiting for the ceremony to start. Perfect opportunity to capture some personalities and get everyone warmed up with the camera around.
Love Henry tapping little Holden on the head. Such a sweet big brother.
Becky is such a caring mama. // And I just love how much the kids love each other.
These two boys!
Such a sincere and tremendous tribute given to Deryk. // Little Holden keeping it together during the ceremony. SO CUTE!
Truly an amazing man.
I love how they include the spouse in a military retirement ceremony. Deryk had the sweetest and most heartfelt words of appreciation for Becky, and I just love seeing how she looked at him.

Seriously, these Dad moments melted my heart! When the speaker talked about the Jeter children, he pointed at his kids in mock seriousness and it was just adorable.
Love the light peeking over at this little guy.
One of the best parts of the whole ceremony was when Lt Col Deryk Jeter gave bouquets to each one of his family members – even the littlest Jeter. It was sweet to see each member personalized when their own token of appreciation and hug from Dad.
Such a wonderful day for Deryk and Becky. Such a strong, devoted couple.
Such a lovely cake! Fellow military wife and talented baker Teri Stringham put together this pretty cake + cupcakes for the celebration.
Look at this kid! Will was sooooo excited about the cake.
Will is pumped for cupcakes! // Selfies with Dad.
Lovely Jeter girls!
Look at little Will! At the conclusion of the ceremony, Will went up to the stage and stood by Dad. My heart! // Selfies with Lt Col Deryk Jeter.
Little man asking Dad to see his medal. My heart!
Such a good group of kids! // Lt Col Deryk Jeter visiting with guests. It’s clear he has such a big heart.
Greeting all the guests. Such a gracious couple.
Look at how they look at each other!
Becky ordered Durian for the menu and had her brother and his daughter try it. Let’s just say, their reactions say everything…
Someone really enjoyed his cake…too stinking cute.
Love how Dad helped him clean up.
So cool Becky’s brother and his daughter flew into Singapore that morning!
Love this Daddy-Daughter moment. Caroline was trying to teach him how to dance and it just wasn’t working…hahaha.
Dad’s make everything more fun.
I think the prettiest hair I’ve ever seen.
Deryk looking up at his country’s flag. // Glad I got to capture these tender Dad moments.
Thank you Jeter family, for such a memorable afternoon!
