There is a popular place in Singapore, the Marina Barrage. It’s right off the water with a perfect breeze for picnics and kite-flying adventures, and you cannot beat the most stunning views of downtown Singapore.
For Letia + her family, this was the perfect place to end their year-long adventure in Singapore. Their bags were already packed, final goodbyes being said, they were already even staying at a nearby hotel until their flight back to the U.S. The reality had sunk in, and an official farewell to Singapore was made at the top of the Barrage. The kids played in the Singapore sun, running kites back and forth. Dan made sure every kite was up and running and Letia made sure no casualties (kite, kid or otherwise) were had. And it was such a perfect afternoon. The sun peeked through clouds throughout the whole session, which made for perfect weather and perfect views of the Singapore skyline.
By now, the Derderian family is already 10,000 miles away from their beloved host country and back in America. But hopefully, this session will forever remind them of their great adventure in Asia and a little taste of this great country they got to call home.
While the kids were jumping from pole to pole, I sneaked a peek at mom + dad. There is nothing better than seeing the expressions you have when watching your kids.
Such a beautiful family!
Dad hands, helping his little lady get her kite in the air.
I really can’t believe we live here! Singapore is pretty gorgeous.
We caught the beginning of National Day in Singapore (think 4th of July in America), and there were flags + decor everywhere. Love it.
Letia brought these sweet little Singaporean cookie/treats that are very popular here. All of the aunties share them with Amelia at the park, so I recognized them instantly. It was the perfect little treat after kite flying!
There is something so magical about getting behind the lens of a camera. I absolutely love this shot of Letia. She’s stunning, am I right?!
And of course, we ended the session with my new favorite drink in Singapore. If you’re local, its at Satay by the Bay, called “Bayfront Sunset.” It’s basically just mango + strawberry in a smoothie form, but it’s delicious.
Well, my family never looks this gorgeous after running around with kites all afternoon! Thanks again for such a wonderful session, Derderian fam! xo
